Our Story

Improving organizational safety performance and capabilities

Established July 6, 2011 by Kahlil M. Allen, President and Chief Executive Officer; Mark A. Davis, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer; and Jason M. Sergent, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, ADS specializes in providing risk-based mission assurance services to the Transportation, Aerospace, and Defense industries.

ADS was founded on the fundamental belief that safer systems cost less, and safer organizations deliver more. This belief has been expanded as the Firm has grown to encompass ADS’s full suite of mission assurance products and services, including Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability engineering services, but remains at the heart of all of ADS’s client engagements.

Initially headquartered in Brookeville, Maryland, ADS first focused on providing system safety and security, and fire / life safety engineering services to the public transportation industry. The Firm’s first clients included the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), Maryland Transit Administration (MTA), and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA). ADS retains these same clients today but has grown significantly since its inception now servicing clients located across the United States and across multiple industries and business sectors.

As a result of ADS’s continued year-over-year growth in client contracts, revenues, employees, and profits, in February 2017, ADS relocated its headquarters office to 20 S. Charles Street, Suite 1103, Baltimore, MD 21201, and now has client-site office locations across the country.

Our risk-based services approach is based on proven engineering principles coupled with key business acumen and is the cornerstone of our business. Through our systematic processes, our clients are provided with data that allows for a greater understanding of current and expected program conditions, broader knowledge sharing across the organization, better and more defensible decision-making, and clearer risk control and mission assurance processes. As a result, our products and services have been found to be more easily implemented and useful by our clients.
